FIRST AID FOR MENTAL HEALTH

When it comes to looking after ourselves mental health still is something that isn't discussed as much as it should or could be. 

 

From recognising mental health conditions to building an action plan and implementing a positive mental health culture, these varying levels of courses will help individuals, organisations, schools and businesses look after themselves, their staff and their loved ones. 

Dual certification achieved on successful completion. A Phoenix Safety Solutions Certificate and UK certificate will be issued for each course, dependent on course option selected. These courses are Ofqual or SQA Accreditation regulated qualifications, subject to assessment

Our Covid-19 operating policy:

This training is available online and is fully instructor led. Classroom training is also available and full PPE will be supplied as necessary.

Level 1 Half Day Course €100 per person

Level 2 Full Day Course €150 per person

Level 3 Two Day Course €220 per person

Company and onsite training available throughout Ireland. Discounts available for group bookings, educational organisations and not for profit organisations.

Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health - Level 1

 

Our half day awareness course will provide you with the confidence to know what mental health is and how to recognise, provide advice and support various conditions.

 

Course Content:

 This course covers the following topics:

  • What is Mental Health?

  • Stress

  • Common mental health conditions

  • Improving your mental wellbeing

 

Who Should Attend:

This course is suitable for those who want to gain an awareness of mental health first aid.

  

Method of Assessment:

The qualification is assessed through open and multiple choice questions. 

 

Course Duration:

4 hours.

 

 

 

First Aid For Mental Health In The Workplace - Level 2

 

Description:

This course encompasses the content of the FAA Level 1 Awareness for First Aid for Mental Health and expands on the effects of drugs and alcohol, incorporates the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and covers ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace.

 

Course Content:
This course covers the following topics:

  • What is Mental Health?

  • Stress

  • Common mental health conditions

  • Harmful coping strategies

  • Support in a mental health crisis

  • Mental health conversations

  • Improving mental well being

 

 

Who Should Attend?:
This course is suitable for those who want to gain a deeper awareness of mental health first aid either at home or in the workplace.

The qualification is assessed through open and multiple choice questions.

Supervising First Aid For Mental Health - Level 3

Description:
Mental health issues in the workplace exist and effect all individuals. Businesses are now, more than ever, encouraged to take ownership of employee wellbeing and we can help you achieve this.

This course encompasses the content of the Level 1 and Level 2 First Aid for Mental Health Awards courses and incorporates the first aid action plan for mental health and how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace. Learners will gain the knowledge to identify when a person may have a mental health condition and know where they can go to get help. 

 

Course Content:
This course covers the following topics:

  • What is Mental Health?

  • Mental health at work

  • Stress

  • Common mental health conditions

  • Psychosis

  • Personality disorders

  • Bipolar and Schizophrenia

  • Signposting individuals

  • Harmful coping strategies

  • Suicide

  • Support in a mental health crisis

The qualification is assessed through open and multiple choice questions.

This course is aimed at trainers, assessors and supervisors.
